Spaghetti and Meat Sauce – the ultimate comfort food! This version is AIP, paleo and nightshade free made with nomato sauce and cassava flour pasta.


  • 1 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp dried or fresh thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried or fresh basil, plus more for garnishing
  • 1/2 dried or fresh oregano
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 cups nomato sauce
  • 1 8oz pack of AIP-compliant pasta


  1. Boil pasta according to package’s specifications and set aside.
  2. To a large stock pot, add olive oil and heat over medium heat.
  3. Add ground beef, sea salt, thyme, basil, oregano, onion and garlic powder and sauté 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add nomato sauce and reduce heat to low. Allow to simmer 20-25 minutes.
  5. Taste for salt and adjust accordingly.
  6. Toss meat sauce with pasta and garnish with fresh basil.
