These AIP/paleo Honey Brûléed Grapefruits are a simple, delicious and low-sugar treat that are great as a dessert, snack or accompaniment to breakfast.
These Honey Brûléed Grapefruits take me back to my childhood. Growing up my mum would occasionally make me and my sister a special treat of simply prepared grapefruits, sliced in half and drizzled with condensed milk.
This dessert was so special not only because it was absolutely decadent, but because it was also a special treat that my grandma used to make for my mum as a child. I think of these honey brûléed grapefruits as a much lighter, dairy free and refined sugar free version of that beloved treat.
Here’s what you need for these simple Honey Brûléed Grapefruits:
- ruby red grapefruits
- honey
- cinnamon
That’s it! They take no more than 15 minutes to prepare from beginning to end, and involve the simple steps of cutting grapefruits, drying them off and sprinkling them with honey and cinnamon.
This easy AIP recipe is bright and light and a great side for brunch, especially when served with some dairy-free yogurt and/or AIP-compliant granola. So beautiful, yet simple, they’re sure to impress.
